According to ABC's WGNO station, Gambit will begin filming this March. Much speculation has been surrounding the production of this film after a series of pre-production blows.

Originally, Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) was going to be the film's director, but dropped out last fall. Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, Bourne Trilogy) was brought in as Rupert's replacement. The film went through further turmoil in pre-production when Channing wanted to ditch the film for undisclosed reasons, and then later came to an unknown agreement with 20th Century Fox. The film was scheduled to hit theaters on October 7th, 2016, but was pushed back without an announcement of a new release date.

With Tatum back in the game, alongside mega-hit action director Doug Liman, Gambit finally appears to be in good shape for a 2017 release. Tatum was even spotted at Sunday's Golden Globes with a Gambit themed haircut.
