Celebrate The One Piece Film Gold With a New Billiken Statue in Osaka


Do you have any plans to go to Osaka, Japan this year? If you do, better try to schedule your trip any time before the third week of September.

A new One Piece Billiken statue is available for viewing at the Tsutenkaku tower. And to mark the new animated feature film, One Piece Film Gold, the golden Billiken statue is modeled after Chopper, the human-reindeer hybrid in the pirate manga series, is available for viewing in the famed tower in Osaka.

According to the Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun, the Chopper Billiken statue is current displayed in the basement level of the Ezaki Glico Co. The company is also offering some exclusive products in line with One Piece Film Gold.

The Billiken is said to have originally been from the United States, but has reached the shores of Japan sometime in the 1900s. It's supposed to bring happiness to those who rub the soles of a Billiken statue's feet.

But visitors will have to keep their hands to themselves. The golden Chopper Billiken is currently enclosed in a showcase, so visitors can't touch the figure. If you're looking for good luck, there's always the famous Billiken god statue, which is also located in the Shinsekai district of Osaka.

One Piece's Chopper Billiken will be on display at the Tsutenkaku tower in Osaka's Naniwa Ward until Sept. 19, so plan your trip well, especially if you're a One Piece fan.
