CBS To Release New Star Trek Series One Episode A Week Online

If you're hoping to binge-watch upcoming online-only Star Trek series on the new CBS platform, you might want to cancel that plan because according to The Atlantic, the network will ensure that you hold onto your subscription by releasing one episode a week throughout 2017.

CBS president Les Moonves expected fans to flock to the program:

"We could have cashed in for a lot of money, selling it to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu … they were all very interested in it...We know thatStar Trekis a high-priced, quality product … there are a lot of very rabidStar Trekfans who are going to sign up for it."

This classic network is trying to ruin everything fans love about streaming, so I'm not sure if enough people will buy into that. As much as I want to see the new Star Trek series, I'm most likely not going to subscribe to the new platform unless they give more reasons for me to subscribe. Trekkers are not stupid.

So what do you think about this new broadcast model?
