Rumored details about Cate Blanchett's villainous role in Thor: Ragnarok have been released online, and it's not what many fans expected.

When Blanchett's involvement was first announced, many assumed that she would play Amora the Enchantress, given that she's known for playing Galadriel in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. But according to Geek.com, that's not the case; she has been cast as Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death and Ruler of Hel.

The report reveals that Hela will team up with Loki, who acquired control of Asgard in the guise of his father, Odin, at the end of Thor: The Dark World. While their motives remain unkown, the report describes how Thor will have a rought start:

In Thor: Ragnarok, Hela and Loki will have set their plan well in motion by the time Thor gets wise to what's going on. Hela ends up creating the incident to Thor's journey in the film. According to our sources, when Thor confronts Hela, things do not go well. Not only does she banish Thor from Asgard, but she destroys Mjolnir!

That sounds like Thor would need The Hulk's help to battle the villainous duo. I'm excited to see this epic film.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on Nov. 17, 2017.
