Catch The Honest Trailer For Amazing Spider-Man 2 Before Going Out To See Spider-Man: Homecoming

Thank god The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn’t a hit, because if not, we wouldn’t be getting this spanking new Tom Holland Spider-Man—in the MCU no less! With the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming this week, Screen Junkies has come up with an honest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

“Revisit the crappy sequel to the premature reboot that failed so hard, Spidey swung back over to Marvel… and unfortunately back over to Sony again.”

You have to admit, there are very little elements of the film that could be considered redeemable, especially since the whole plot was convoluted, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro was a cartoonish stalker type. It just seemed that Sony was trying too hard to make their own expanded universe.

As for the perks, you have to love watching Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. Compared to Maguire, his Spidey truly embodies what it means to be a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” and it’s nice to see him crack some jokes at the villains. I also thought that the choice to have his eyes bigger in the costume was great till Marvel introduced the expressive eyes on the Civil War suit. Genius!

With Sony still planning to make Venom outside of the MCU, I’m just hoping they don’t mess up this good thing they have going on with Marvel. What’s so wrong about handing them the creative reigns, Sony? You still get all the profit!

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
