Castlevania Producer is Working on an Animated Series Based on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Adi Shankar is a name you should know since his work in Castlevania has gotten a lot of praise from both critics and fans. Shankar has since been given the keys to more gaming adaptations like Devil May Cry and it looks like he's been given another big IP to work with, in Ubisoft's Far Cry. Or, to be more accurate, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Shankar will be producing a new young-adult series based on the popular video game expansion. Apparently, the series will be called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe. While it's a bit weird that the show won't have Far Cry in the title, it should be in safe hands since Shankar will make sure it's faithful to the game.

Granted, the game is actually a parody of over-the-top action movies from the late ‘80s and mid-‘90s but that could easily become a popular animated show. Considering how popular the game was with fans back in the day, this could become a sure-fire hit.

Fans hoping to get Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will either need a PS3, Xbox 360, or PC since the expansion isn't available in current-gen gaming consoles. While Ubisoft did release Far Cry 3: Classic Edition on PS4 and Xbox One, it does not come with the Blood Dragon expansion. If the show gains steam, here's hoping Blood Dragon gets some sort of re-release.

No release date for Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe has been revealed. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is now available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
