Carrie Fisher’s Dog Gary Has An Alien Version Of Himself In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Carrie Fisher had infamously brought around her dog Gary for interviews when she was promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it looks like he has a "cameo" in The Last Jedi. Some eagle-eye fans have spotted an alien version of him in a movie still, and director Rian Johnson confirmed that it was indeed a tribute to Gary.

Check it out:

Fans' hearts broke when Carrie Fisher died in 2016, but they felt even worse for her dog Gary whom she was obviously very fond of. For now, Gary has found a new home with Fisher's assistant, and he has his own Instagram and Twitter to keep fans posted on what he's up to.

Fisher's untimely death has certainly left a huge hole in the franchise, and a lot of people are hoping that The Last Jedi is going to give her a proper sendoff. With Leia said to have been one of the major players in Star Wars Episode IX, I wonder just how J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio plan to write her out of the story in a way that feels natural and respectful to Fisher's legacy.

Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.
