Captain Marvel’s Hair is a Big Deal, But So is Her Inspirational Appeal

One of the most talked about and anticipated movies in the Marvel universe that still has to get some sizable progress is Captain Marvel. And while the studio has already confirmed Brie Larson as the titular protagonist to play the role of Carol Danvers, we don't have any concrete knowledge about what's going on behind the scenes.

For this, Larson answers a few big questions thrown by IGN at her during her interview for promoting Kong Skull Island. For starters, she shared that reading the comics for Captain Marvel has made her see the character as one that provides an inspiration, given what she can achieve with her capabilities.

Larson revealed that, as a young girl, she had her own complicated takes on what it was to have a role model. And now that she will be a kind of role model by portraying Carol Danvers, the challenge and the responsibility can ne both overwhelming and exciting.

"When it comes to her, just the fact that she can be a bridge between two worlds, that she can go between Earth and she can go to space and that her own personal place is in this little area between where Earth ends and space begins, that that's hers is so moving to me. I'm just inspired. I've been so inspired going through the comics and reading them right now."

The pressure is undeniable with her character, as she will essentially be the first female hero to star in a titular role.

Still, another pressing concern that even Larson understands is this: just how will Captain Marvel look? Who knew that hair means quite a lot to fans? In fact, Larson got the funny brunt of it. She shared that fans would be telling her to better have the long hair, the mohawk, the helmet, and not the helmet.

"Someone's going to be mad."

Whatever her hairstyle becomes, I'm sure Marvel will figure out the best way to deliver Captain Marvel's story.

We'll see more of he when she arrives as one of the female heroes in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018 before she debuts in her own solo film on March 8, 2019.
