Captain Marvel Screenwriter On Why The Heroine Was A Blast To Write

With Black Panther officially becoming a success and the anticipation for Avengers: Infinity War at an all-time high, it seems like the sky's the limit for Marvel Studios. Next year is going to be a big one for the company, as it will not only have the conclusion to Infinity War but it will also be the cinematic debut of Captain Marvel, who will be played by Brie Larson.

Fans worried about how the character will be portrayed in the film need not worry, as Captain Marvel screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet told Cinemablend that she had a blast writing the character.

One reason Carol Danvers was fun to write is due to her love of action. Comic readers know that Carol would rather be on the frontline of any superhero team, rather than on the sidelines or giving orders. It looks like her punch-first attitude will remain in the film, which should be a relief for fans.

"Carol Danvers is someone I really enjoyed writing because she just loves kicking ass. She just has the best time, and that's something, hat's off to the comics, that's how she is in the comics and they created an amazing character. She was a joy to write because she's just always having fun. Always funny. Yeah. I had a blast with her."

Hearing a writer discuss the joys of screenwriting is always nice. It also seems like Dworet made has a good handle on the character, so this could be one of the more faithful MCU adaptations.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
