Captain Marvel Has Cosmic-Powered Thursday Night Showing

There might be a lot of trolls hiding under a bridge waiting to attack it, but Captain Marvel seems to be safe from them thus far. Not only is the movie getting mostly positive reviews, but the film is on track to making a lot of money for Disney and Marvel, so it looks like the geek-pandering studio won't be dying anytime soon. The movie reportedly did really well during a Thursday screening, which indicates a successful weekend box office opening.

According to Deadline, the latest MCU installment will be making an estimated $20 to $24 million from its Thursday screening alone. That's pretty impressive, though you could argue that this is typical MCU money these days. Still, the movie seems to be another solid installment and we can't wait to see it.

Captain Marvel also topped Fandango sales, showing that hype for the movie really is at an all-time high. This will answer a ton of important questions leading into Avengers: Endgame and will explain how the cosmic heroine ends up appearing in that movie. I mean, we all want to know why Nick Fury would only contact Carol during Thanos' snap and not for events like Loki's attack in New York or the Age of Ultron.

Fans will be able to check out Captain Marvel in theaters now.
