Captain Marvel: Clark Gregg Celebrates Phil Coulson's Return With BTS Photo

Fans have missed seeing Phil Coulson in the big screen ever since he was killed by Loki in The Avengers. While Coulson was brought back to life to star in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. we haven't seen him appear in an MCU film since, with Martin Freeman's Everett Ross seemingly taking his place.

Then he was announced for Captain Marvel, which made many MCU fans very happy. Since the film is set in the 90's it would make sense for him to appear in the movie, especially with S.H.I.E.L.D. in its early days.

Clark Gregg, the actor who portrays Coulson, has decided to celebrate his return to the MCU films by posting a quick BTS photo. He writes "new job, old friends" showing that he will be paired with Fury again, presumably.

We first saw Coulson in the very first MCU film Iron Man and has consistently appeared in other installments like Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Avengers, where he sadly killed by Loki. Fans might be happy that he's in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but it's sad knowing that the other heroes don't know that Coulson is back.

Captain Marvel comes out on March 8, 2019.
