Captain Marvel: Are We Going to Meet a Skrull Version of Nick Fury?

It's been confirmed for a while that Nick Fury will be appearing in the upcoming Captain Marvel film, and a new BTS photo suggests that we might actually get to meet a Skrull masquerading as Fury at some point in the film.

Samuel J. Jackson just shared this photo of himself getting his face cast. Check it out:

I can't imagine any reason they're preparing a cast of Jackson other than the possible need to make prosthetics for his "Skrull" look. In the comics, the Skrulls could shape-shift into any person on Earth, but when they reveal themselves, they still look human, save for the green skin, pointy ears, and signature lined chin a la Thanos.

Then again, maybe they're preparing some complicated prosthetic that will show Nick Fury losing his eye, but I don't see why they can't just CGI that over Jackson's actual face.

For now, this is all just speculation, and we'll just have to wait for the movie to come out to see what really happens to Fury in the film. Personally, I'm hoping they bring back 90s era Samuel L. Jackson for the film, complete with Pulp Fiction facial hair; bonus points if he swears a lot.

Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
