As part of Entertainment Weekly's big preview of Captain America: Civil War, the magazin released some details about a huge, widescreen "splash page" that shows all the Avengers fighting one another in the upcoming film.
They were on-set as the scene was being filmed, but a lot of the details are hard to put together since a lot of the visual effects are still missing.
Here are the (truncated version) details:
Black Widow beats down Ant-Man while Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch attack...something...in the sky (you can't tell what, since the VFX aren't done yet). Iron Man is locked onto Captain America, flying into place and slugging it out with Cap despite some practical issues (the camera was too close for Chris Evans to keep throwing punches without hitting it). The scene, they say, wraps with Iron Man knocking Cap to his knees, "but he won't stay there."
That "something" in the sky is probably Vision. The scene sounds epic, and I can't wait to see it unfold on screen.
Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Captain America: Civil War will be released in theaters on May 6, 2016.
