Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been in theaters for over a month, we're finally learning more about the production, specifically revealing some details about the lesser known actors that had small but signifiant roles in the film. The team at Star Wars News Net shared some info on the actress who played the young Rey in The Force Awakens. Her name is Cailey Fleming, an 8-year-old actress from Picayune, Mississippi, who's been an aspiring actress since she was 4. She auditioned for a role in The Force Awakens, unbeknownst at the time, was for the young Rey in the film.

We saw Fleming appear when Rey (Daisy Ridley) experienced a vision after touching Luke Skywalker's lightsaber in the basement of Maz Kanata's Castle. In the vision, we saw the young Rey on Jakku watching and calling out to a ship flying away. in an interview with the Picayune Item, Fleming talked about her experience filming the scene at Bad Robot Studios in Los Angeles:

"It was fun and we filmed at the headquarters on the roof. I wore war clothes and had makeup on my arms to make it look like I was in the desert. I met Daisy Ridley, who was really nice. The director, J.J. Abrams was super nice and he sent to me to Disneyland. Every time we did a scene he would yell ‘cut' and bring strawberries."

Cailey also described her reaction upon seeing herself in the movie:

"Before I saw my face, you could hear my voice, so I knew when my part was coming and then my face came on the big screen. I was excited. It's a good movie and people should see it."

That's good to know Cailey's experience on filming her scene. We still don't know much about Rey's past, which the creators promised to elaborate on the future sequels. Perhaps Cailey will have the chance to reprise her role as the young Rey in Episodes VIII and IX.
