Bond 25: Danny Boyle Being Considered to Direct

MGM is gearing up to make the 25th James Bond movie, but for now, there still isn't a director attached. Names like Christopher Nolan and Denis Villenueve have been tossed around, but now rumor has it that Trainspotting's Danny Boyle is being eyed to direct.

According to Variety, Boyle is on the top of MGM's list of potential directors for Bond 25; and though he's said to be helming a film for Working Title, Boyle is said to have "always wanted to direct a Bond film." Maybe his WT feature can take a backseat while he takes the reins for Bond?

As for other directors who were considered for the project, the likes of Denis Villenueve, David Mackenzie, and Yann Demange are said to be off the list. Christopher Nolan has also taken his name out of the list, even if he has expressed his interest in helming a Bond movie down the line.

It's also worth noting that Bond 25 will likely be Daniel Craig's last foray as Bond. He's been doing a splendid job since 2006's Casino Royale, but now it looks like he's ready to move on from being the world's most famous super spy.

The question then left is: Who is going to play the next Bond after Craig? Names like Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston have popped up, but hopefully we'll get answers when Bond 25 finally hits theaters.

Bond 25 is set to come out Nov. 8, 2019.
