Blizzard dominated the gaming world ever since they released the Warcraft series in 2004. Blizzard entertainment has continued to provide us with classic games like Diablo, Hearthstone, and the OverWatch series.

Warcraft also released 3 series and 2 expansions for their origin game. The first game was released in 1994 quickly followed by Warcraft: Tides of Darkness in 1995. The third chapter, Warcraft: Reign of Chaos was released in 2002 followed by its best-selling expansion, Warcraft: Frozen Throne which allows us a real-time strategy played by two factions composed of 5 players.

Warcraft series has been one of the classic games and their online open-world game World of Warcraft still continues to develop and is still played by many users given its long-running time.

A Warcraft movie was also released last 2016, following the same theme of the game.

Last 2021, the company’s CEO Bobby Kotick told investors that the developers have made "multiple, mobile, free-to-play Warcraft experiences" hinting that the Warcraft mobile game is furtherly making a development.

Last February 3 on ‘Blizzard’s Fourth Quarter and 2021 Financial Results,’ Blizzard also released a statement about their plans for the Warcraft franchise.

“Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.”

While we don't have any details yet about this ‘substantial content’ for ‘player’s hand for the first time,’ what we can assume is that we can expect an update from Blizzard this year as they mentioned the new mobile content is coming in 2022.

Now, with this new information, keep in mind that the company seems to have a reputation for delaying its releases. Specifically when they released a teaser of Diablo 3’s major game and then released a lesser mobile game.

Warcraft also announced that the mobile game Diablo: Immortal concluded its first public testing with positive feedback and is rumored to be released in the first half of 2022.
