Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 5 Screenshots Tease The Horror of The Sternritter

The latest Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode that premiered earlier this week showed the terrifying ability of the Wandenreich to steal the Bankai of the Soul Reapers. Four captains of the Gotei 13 learned that the hard way while battling the members of the Sternritter, the powerful group of Quincy in the Wandenreich army, after they invaded Soul Society.

Today, the official website of Bleach shared five new screenshots for Episode 5 episode, titled Wrath as A Lightning, and the Shinigami of Soul Society as well as Ichigo and his friends at Hueco Mundo are clearly struggle in their war against Yhwach and his Wandenreich army.

Although Quilge Opie, the Sternritter member with the designation "J" - "The Jail", is surprisingly not able to steal Ichigo's Bankai during their fight in Hueco Mundo, he's able to get back up after Urahara attacks him, and just before Ichigo can escape Hueco Mundo in order to reach Soul Society and help the other Shinigami fight the Quincy, he imprisons him inside his Reishi Prison.

The first screenshot shows the horror of Urahara, Chad, and Orihime as Ichigo feels helpless inside the spherical prison that traps him in another dimension. Of course, manga readers already know how this fight ends, but anime-only fans are probably wondering how Quilge Opie will be defeated.

There's also a shot of Rukiya Kuchiki and his brother Byakuya, and it looks like As Nodt, the Sternritter with the designation "F" - Fear, is dominating the fight. Even Renji appears to be terrified and unable to do anything, as shown in the final screenshot.
