Blade Runner 2 Release Date Moved Up, It's Coming Sooner Than We Expected

With pre-production gaining momentum, Alcon Entertainment decided to move up the release date of the Blade Runner sequel from January 2018 to October 2017.

According to Variety, Alcon moved up the release date for Blade Runner 2 on Oct. 6, 2017, shifting from its original date of Jan 13, 2018.

Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Det. Rick Deckard and Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright are set to co-star in the movie from Sicario director Denis Villeneuve.

The sequel, written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, is set decades after Ridley Scott's original 1982 film and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick's cyberpunk novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. No details on the plot yet.
