Black Widow’s David Harbour Answers Whether He’s Really Engaged Now

The internet has been busy obsessing over Stranger Things star David Harbour as of late.

Not only have Marvel fans been going wild about Harbour's new role as Red Guardian in Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow standalone movie, but the actor's followers have been busying themselves with rumors that the Hellboy star has just found himself engaged with musician Lily Allen, the sister of Alfie Allen from Game of Thrones.

The singer was just recently seen wearing a ring on her middle finger in public, and this has lead fans to believe that Harbour finally popped the question.

Speaking in a panel during an appearance at this year's German Comic Con Dortmund (via ComicBook.com), Harbour finally decided to address the rumors.

"Oh, no, I'm not engaged," the actor answered, laughing the idea off. "That's a rumor, that's a rumor. But I do have a girlfriend, yes. The tabloids are correct about that. But I'm not engaged."

Perhaps Allen was simply wearing a ring for fun. Or, perhaps the two really are engaged. Harbour may just want to keep it private for now.

Meanwhile, in other news, Harbour also decided to talk about the fate of his Stranger Things character, Police Chief Jim Hopper, Fans are still wondering whether Hopper really survived the blast in the last season of the science fiction horror series. It would be heartbreaking if the police chief had actually died. He had grown so much during the entirety of Stranger Things, and it would be so gut-wrenching to hear that the writers really killed him off, right after he'd become a father to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

Is Hopper really gone though?

"Now whether or not there is this second act, whether or not there is some sort of resurrection, whether or not we can see him go off in a certain way, would be really interesting to me. I would love it," he said. "Anybody watch Lord of the Rings? Gandalf the Grey fights the Balrog, descends into darkness, battles him forever, and everyone thinks he's dead. And then he re-emerges as Gandalf the White, with sort of new strength and a new power. That would be an interesting arc for him."

We hope he returns.

Black Widow is set to premiere on May 1, 2020. Stranger Things is expected to return sometime next year.
