Black Panther's Shuri is Getting Her Own Comic Book Series

After stealing every scene she was in during the Black Panther movie, Shuri will now headline her own comic book series. While she did helm a comic series before, Shuri did so as the new Black Panther before T'Challa took the mantle back. Now, she is her own woman and it will be interesting to see what the Marvel universe has in store for her.

Revealed by Bustle, the series has Shuri looking for her brother, who is lost in space. This implies a huge connection with the current Black Panther ongoing series, which has the King of Wakanda discovering the country's intergalactic empire. With her brother missing, Shuri will have to be pulled from her lab and take on more responsibilities.

Instead of her Black Panther garb, Shuri's appearance is more similar to her movie counterpart, though her gauntlets have a different design. Since she won't be taking up the Black Panther mantle again, going with this look is fine for the time being and should make fans of the film a bit interested.

Writer Nnedi Okorafor will be helming the Shuri series, while artist Leonardo Romero will draw the character's adventures. The first issue comes out this October.
