Black Panther Star Lupita Nyong’O Failed To Get Tickets To The Movie’s Opening Night

It might come as a bit of a surprise but it seems like Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o hasn't been able to buy opening night tickets to Marvel's upcoming comic book movie.

Though the Academy Award-winning actress previously told her fans and followers that tickets to Black Panther had gone on sale back on Monday, Nyong'o just recently admitted in a new video she put up on Twitter that she wasn't able to procure tickets to the opening night of the Marvel movie. She tried, but she was blocked by a number of error messages, and by the team she got through to the website, all of the seats to the film were sold out.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise though – there have been reports saying that Black Panther is currently Marvel's best-selling movie in terms of ticket presales. There's a lot of excitement building up over the superhero film. Not only is it Chadwick Boseman's first standalone movie as the King and Protector of Wakanda, it's also the first comic book movie with an all-black cast.

Of course, it's likely that Nyong'o already has a couple of seats reserved for the world premiere of the film, but the actress may have wanted to have a second viewing with her family.

Here's a synopsis of Black Panther:

"After the events ofMarvel's Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war."

Black Panther hits cinemas on February 16, 2018.
