Black Panther Concept Designer Had A Lot Of Masks For Killmonger

Marvel fans had a lot of love for Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger.

The estranged cousin of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa served as Black Panther's main villain, and unlike many of the other antagonists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Killmonger had strong character motivation and a heartbreaking history.

Praised by many as the best villain in Marvel history, many were sad to see Killmonger go. Now, as fans continue to wait for a villain as well-written as T'Challa's cousin, CBM gives fans a collection of concept art showing off the different mask and suit designs for the lost son of Wakanda.

Given the number of mask art pieces made for Killmonger, it seems like Black Panther's concept artist had a whole lot of fun working on the different looks for the film's villain. Though all the masks have a very African aesthetic to the, you can see the design varying between the mask of pathers, horned beasts, and other beings. Though the film ultimately decided to give Killmonger the mask of a horned devil, it would have been interesting to see the character put on one of these other masks instead.

Black Panther is currently screening in cinemas.
