Black Panther: Bucky's Post-Credit Scene Was Longer

The post-credit sequence of Black Panther was an interesting one that didn't actually focus on the upcoming Infinity War but on one Bucky Barnes. It's the first time we hear his White Wolf name that he will now use instead of Winter Soldier and it looks like his mind is finally at peace.

It turns out that sequence with Bucky was going to be a bit longer, with Sebastian Stan revealing that the whole scene was eight minutes long.

During a panel at Wizard World Portland (via CinemaBlend), the actor revealed a number of details that were cut from the final product. Stan says that the scene would have been funnier, interacting with some of Wakanda's elders and children. He notes that the cuts were necessary and what we see in the movie is better.

Here's Stan's full statement:

"There was something really actually funny about that scene. It's definitely better the way it is now, I think. But that scene was at least 8 more minutes long than what we saw. And it was like a more inquisitive Bucky. He was kind of really going, 'Why do they call it these?' And [Shuri] was telling him a little about it, and they kind of walk in a direction, and then he walked over and started hanging out with elders and playing with the kids, but you don't see that."

Captain America's partner has gone been through a lot, with his mind being messed with on multiple occasions and being forced to kill people via a trigger word mechanic. It was even revealed in Civil War that he killed Iron Man's parents while under Hydra's control, effectively breaking the friendship between Rogers and Stark, with the former keeping the secret whilst not knowing it was Bucky who did the deed.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on April 27. Black Panther will be available on home media on May 8 for digital buyers and May 15 for Blu-Ray owners.
