BioShock Movie is Coming to Netflix!

A new movie based on the popular first-person RPG video game BioShock is now in development at Netflix. The streamer announced the news today on social media where it revealed that it had teamed-u with Take-Two Interactive and 2K Games to finally develop a movie adaptation for it.

On Twitter, Netflix announced: "Netflix, 2K and Take-Two Interactive are partnering to produce a film adaptation of the renowned video game franchise BioShock".

Details on the movie are still being kept under wraps, but this is the second time that a BioShock movie has now been in development after the first project was confirmed all the way back in 2009. Originally, Gore Verbinski, the director of Pirates of the Caribbean movies, was attached to helm the BioShock movie, but for various reasons, the project didn't come to light. Thankfully, Netflix has revived the project, and fans of the video game will surely be hyped to see how the compelling world of BioShock will be translated for the big screen.

For those unfamiliar with the 2007 game, BioShock is set in a large underwater city planned and constructed in the 1940s by individualist business magnate Andrew Ryan, who wanted to create a utopia for society's elite to flourish outside of government control and "petty morality".
