Though we may not be getting a new season of Game of Thrones next year, we will be getting a follow-up to 2016's Westworld. Ben Barnes, played Logan and was [SPOILER] part of an ongoing flashback involving the young Man in Black a.k.a. William, and it looks like he'll be back for the second season of the show.
Talking to ScreenRant, Barnes has confirmed that he has already done some work on the second season:
"I definitely have heard because I can tell you that I have been on set at least once already."
If Logan was to return to the show, the only reason I can think of is because of a flashback. Seeing that William had aged significantly in the present day, the same could be said for Logan as well.
Though he is mostly just a side character, Logan can be thanked for William's supposed "awakening" when it came to the park. Without Logan, William wouldn't have tapped into his "true nature" that got him so obsessed with the park and its true meaning.
With Game of Thrones about to end, HBO is seeking its new masthead, and what better show for that role besides Westworld. The production value alone is enough to compete with GoT, but you also have to applaud the magnificent writing that goes into every episode. Sure there aren't any dragons or whitewalkers but with the possible inclusion of Samuraiworld in the next season, I can imagine a medieval setting pretty close to Westeros.
Catch Westworld 2 in HBO coming 2018.
