Ben Affleck's Batman movie might be coming much sooner than everyonje anticipated, CBR reports. During a recent Time Warner investors conference, CEO Jim Bewkes stated that the Batman movie is coming out in roughly eighteen months. "Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he's going to direct, star, write for," Bewkes said. "I think it's a year and a half out."

It's not entirely clear what Bewkes meant by this. He could be saying that the production is starting in eighteen months or that the release date is in eighteen months. If it is a release date, we'd be seeing the movie in March, 2018.

It being a timeline for start of production seems more likely. That would make the release date for the movie sometime in 2019. There is an unnanounced DC film slated for November 1st, 2019 and Batman would fit the bill.

Affleck is indeed co-writing the Batman movie script with DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns, in addition to writing for and starring in it.The villain for the film has already been confirmed as being Deathstroke the Terminator. J.K. Simmons will be appearing in the film as Commissioner Gordon and Jeremy Irons will reprise his role of Alfred Pennyworth.

What do you think of this news? Do you think it indicates a release date or production date? Are you excited for Affleck's Batman movie?
