Ben Affleck is Very, Very Serious About His Batman Solo Movie

It seems that among those who have taken the past few DC films as sort of lesson learned moments is actor Ben Affleck.

Affleck was part of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder's first attempt at putting together a few DC heroes as a test run for what would be his bigger take on the universe in Justice League next year. And as fans and moviegoers know, the movie had experience an incredible amount of backlash.

Even Affleck himself was dubbed with the creative moniker of Sadffleck following the critics' cold reception of the movie.

Now, The Guardian learned that Affleck is really taking his time when it comes to his Batman movie, a film which he will not only star in, but also direct. Following reports of Warner Bros' controversial treatment of DC film scripts, Affleck revealed just how much he is invested in ensuring that this will be a Batman movie worthy to stand besides its predecessors.

"But it's not a set thing and there's no script. If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great, I'm not going to do it."

This wasn't the first time that Affleck had been on record stating these thoughts for the Batman movie. He had also previously said that he wanted to have "something that is special" to make sure that he won't be helming a "mediocre version of Batman." For him, it is not about the money that will be earned from fans' pockets expecting it to be great when it won't, but rather one that he should deem good enough for even him to make.

Perhaps it's also thanks to the reason why he wanted to even become Batman in the first place. In the same interview, Affleck revealed why he had chosen to go onboard with the project:

"Sam [Affleck's son] thinks his dad is Batman. That's an incredible feeling."

When you have more than money in it for you, I guess we can rest a little easier and bank on Affleck's talent to get this franchise through.

The Batman solo movie doesn't have a release date yet. Still, there are two DC films coming to theaters this year, Wonder Woman in June and Justice League in November.
