Beauty And The Beast: Watch Josh Gad And Luke Evans Perform 'Gaston' Live

Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast is actually getting some great reviews, and everyone can't wait to see all the classic songs come to life on the big screen. During a press conference for the movie, Josh Gad (Lefou) and Luke Evans (Gaston) take the time to perform their own rendition of "Gaston" along with songwriter Alan Menken.

Alan Menken was actually the original composer for the 1992 Beauty and the Beast, and it looks like he's written some specific lyrics for the live-action version of "Gaston." Granted some lines have been removed (the "covered with hair" bit), I can't wait to see the entire song performed with costumes and choreography.

I thought that it was a wasted opportunity not to have Hugh Jackman perform as Gaston in the movie — since he's done it for Broadway — but Luke Evans actually has some good pipes for the part. Granted his body isn't as huge as Jackman's, it's still a pretty good performance.

Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast's hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17.
