Battlefield 2042 releases on November 19th, 2021, rebooting the Battlefield franchise like Modern Warfare 2019 did for Call of Duty. Unsurprisingly, the hype is real, but you won't have to wait until November to play Battlefield 2042 because the game's open beta is right around the corner. In this article, we'll tell you everything you need to know about the Battlefield 2042 open beta.

The Battlefield 2042 open beta begins on October 6th, 2021 and runs through October 9th, 2021. Preload for the beta begins on October 5th, 2021, and the beta will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. You do not need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to play the beta on PlayStation, but you will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play the beta on Xbox.

If you've pre-ordered the game or are an EA Play subscriber, you'll have early access to the beta from October 6th to October 7th. Open access for everyone else begins on October 8th. Early access goes like at 7:00 UTC on all platforms on October 6th, and open access goes like at 7:00 UTC on October 8th on all platforms.

The Battlefield 2042 open beta will only be available in English, and after playing the beta, DICE is asking gamers to share their feedback on the EA forums. DICE is also happy for gamers to stream the beta and create content surrounding the open beta without fear of a DMCA claim.

The open beta is set to bring players to the map Orbital, where chaotic weather conditions will influence gameplay, with the classic Conquest mode, a mainstay of the Battlefield franchise. Any progress made or levels earned in the open beta will not transfer over to the full release of Battlefield 2042.

Also coming to the beta are four different Specialist characters for gamers to play as. Each Specialist comes with their own unique weapons and abilities focused on a different kind of playstyle from healing to sniping.
