Batman v Superman Tops Razzie Nomination List for Worst in Film

Enough people think badly of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice that it's been nominated for the Golden Raspberry Awards several times, Comic Book Moviereports. The Golden Raspberry Awards are held every year to pick out the worst in film every year. This year will be the 36th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards, and the shortlist is available here.

Batman v. Superman earned a stunning eight nominations, the most of any movie this year. Batman v. Superman has been nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Prequel, Remake, Ripoff or Sequel and Worst Screenplay. The movie's director Zack Snyder has been nominated as Worst Director.

Even the actors didn't escape. Both Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have been nominated as Worst Actor for their roles as Superman and Batman respectively. Jesse Eisenberg was also nominated for his role as Lex Luthor. Finally, Jeremy Irons was nominated for his role as Alfred Pennyworth alongside his role in Assassin's Creed.

This was a good year for fantasy and sci-fi at the Razzies in general. The Divergent Series: Allegiant nabbed six nominations and the video game movie Assassin's Creed got five. Ghostbusters was nominated for worst screenplay. Suicide Squad was nominated for worst picture and Jared Leto got a Worst Actor nom for his role as the Joker.

While I don't think Batman v. Superman was a great movie, I also don't think it was the worst movie of the year, so the nominations seem a little excessive. I actually thought Ben Affleck did a good job as Bruce Wayne, for one. My pick for the years worst movie would be Gods of Egypt, which did rack up a few nominations.

What about you? Do you agree with the nominations? Who do you want to win?
