Baldur's Gate III Has Finally Been Announced, From the Developers of Divinity: Original Sin 2


After Divinity: Original Sin 2 came out to uproaring applause, fans were excited to see what the developers at Larian Studios. Well, huge news came out recently as it was announced that Larian Studios will be working on Baldur's Gate III, which is great news for D&D fans. The first two Divinity games already played similarly to the old-school Baldur's Gate games so this is very good news.

Fans have been waiting for a new Baldur's Gate game for the longest time so the fact that a new installment is coming from the Divinity developers has a lot of people getting pumped up. Considering how these games have a lot of fans and treasured memories, the expectations for this new sequel are going to be high.

Here is the official press release from the developers:

Baldur's Gate III will push the boundaries of the RPG genre and offer a rich narrative with unparalleled player freedom, high-stakes decisions, unique companion characters and memorable combat. It is Larian Studios' biggest production ever and will be playable together with friends or as a single-player adventure.

When Larian Studios first teased the game, they did so with a III logo and fans getting confused. Originally, fans thought that the game was going to be a sequel to Divinity: Original Sin 2 since a third game is only logical. After all, the first two games are instant classics and we're all hoping that it lives up to our expectations.

Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't have a release date yet. It will be coming to PC and the Google Stadia.
