Avengers: Infinity War Writers Provide Update on Scripts

The writers of Avengers: Infinity Wars Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely shared a status upate on how the scripts for Marvel's upcoming pair of sequel films are coming along.

During an interview with Yahoo! Movies!, Markus and McFeely said they've penned several drafts, as they're currently on the third draft of Avengers: Infinity War and writing the second draft of the untitled follow-up.

The pair are focused on working on both films, saying that "on any given day, you're only working on one but that doesn't mean that next week, you aren't working on the other one." The duo also said that details are constantly changing, as "notes are coming in and all sorts of production stuff is coming in" that requires them to make adjustments.

When talking about how they keep track of character deaths and handling the massive cast of the MCU, he said that they lock themselves in a room with directors Anthony and Joe Russo (along with some Marvel Execs), where "one wall has cards for movie one and the other wall has cards for movie two and another wall has little baseball cards of every character still alive in the Marvel universe" and used that as a guide before they "began to shuffle the cards around."

Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theaters on May 4, 2018, while the currently untitled followup is set to debut on May 3, 2019. The fourth Avengers film was originally set as the second part of Infinity War, but it was just recently confirmed that Infinity War will only comprise of one film.
