The Guardians have always been considered as among the most immature of the heroes in the MCU. Dubbed as the A-holes in the entire team of heroes, they're the misfits who seem to always have an issue or two in their midst.

But when fans finally catch up to them when they join the rest of the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War, they will be changed in ways that we can see onscreen.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Marvel big boss Kevin Feige a surprising little tidbit—and it's that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set just months after the first film debuted. This means that the continuity is more with the first movie rather than coming after movies that succeeded it.

What makes this interesting, is that seeing them in the sequel will give fans a minor jolt when they see them evolve in time for their next appearance in Avengers: Infinity War. That's thanks to the four-year gap that will follow Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 into Avengers: Infinity War.

"They will have evolved slightly, in some recognizable ways. But really they'll be the Guardians and dealing with the shit storm they have to deal with."

Seeing the gang of Guardians evolve is quite the milestone. After all, their slight immaturity and impulsiveness are really what drove the first movie to success.

It's hard to picture the likes of Star-Lord growing up and maturing, but if the events on Earth are but a glimpse of what else is happening in the galaxy, then his growing up may be the least of our problems.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be out this April 26. Avengers: Infinity War will come out next year.
