Avengers: Infinity War Will Have Tons Of Unexpected Characters

Calling Avengers: Infinity War and its unnamed sequel massive is an understatement, considering the number of characters that have been confirmed for the film. Pretty much every lead character from the previous installments will be making an appearance, not to mention Thanos and his lackeys. As if that wasn't enough, Joe Russo, one half of the Russo Brothers, has confirmed that we will see a ton of "unexpected characters."

During an interview with CNET, Russo said that the next two films would be chock-full of surprises for fans. Aside from numerous interactions with the enormous cast, he confirmed that there is going to be a lot of unexpected characters. Whether he means new characters we have yet to see, or previous ones that haven't appeared in a while is not yet known.

"There's going to be a lot of unexpected characters. There are more surprises packed into this film than any of the others. Part of that is character interactions, new interesting characters, characters that have made small appearances that are really getting fleshed out in this film. A lot of people enjoy the experience, so I don't want to give anything away, butcertainlyyou can expect lots of surprises."

Fans have had plenty of theories as to what could happen. Some of them have predicted the return of previously fallen enemies like Red Skull or Ronan the Accuser. Others think we will see characters that haven't appeared yet, like Nova. There are even those that think the various TV characters will get their chance to shine, from Phil Coulson, The Inhumans, Daredevil and more.

Only time will tell what will happen and that trailer cannot come soon enough. Avengers: Infinity War is slated for a May 4, 2018, release.
