Avengers: Infinity War Will Be The Final Chapter For Some Heroes

The expectations for Avengers: Infinity War are incredibly high counting that this movie will be the end-all conclusion to everything that Marvel Studios has been building since 2008, and you can expect that the movie will have some huge stakes.

During a press junket (via JoBlo), Feige was asked whether Infinity War will be the final chapter for some MCU heroes, and he confirmed it with a "Yes." He was also asked about any future plans after Avengers 4, but he explains that the studio's focus for now is just to work on the next two years of movies.

"We have another two years of hard work to even finish these movies, and they [the actors] have a lot of hard work to do, so that's all we're thinking about, is completing those and delivering on the promise of those. Where it goes beyond that, we'll see."

I'm guessing if a character had to go, it would be someone who has been in the MCU for a while, so their death would be a guaranteed blow. Since Vision (Paul Bettany) has an Infinity Stone embedded in his head, I'm guessing he's going to die when Thanos pulls it out to complete the Infinity Gauntlet. There's also a chance we see Captain America die, since he did bite the dust during the aftermath of the Civil War in the comics. Nick Fury is also a likely candidate, if you ask me. Sam Jackson has been in the Universe since 2008, and I'm sure Fury's death can give the movie some gravitas.

The truth is, nobody wants to know who this character will be, but everyone loves discussing the possibilities. I would actually love Anthony Mackie or Sebastian Stan pick-up Captain America's shield at some point. I just really want to see an Avengers movie with some real stakes.

Avengers: Infinity War comes out May 4, 2018.
