Avengers Infinity War: Why it Took Longer for Spidey to Disappear

Avengers: Infinity War ended with a lot of questions, most of them concerning character decisions (Why didn't Doctor Strange teleport Star-Lord during his tantrum?) to speculation for the sequel. One thing that puzzles people, though, is the fact that it actually took longer for Spider-Man to disappear into dust. So what gives?

Talking to The Huffington Post, the Russo Brother confirm that this was because of Peter Parker's Spider-sense. It's not that it took longer for him to disappear, he just realized he was going to disappear earlier than everyone else:

"That's correct. He was aware of something."

With the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel set to be the first MCU film after Avengers 4, a lot of people are sure that Spider-Man will come back at some point. Nevertheless, Peter Parker's "I don't want to go" still manages to be a heartbreaking scene, and has become a unavoidable meme online.

Going back to Spider-sense, there's an interesting theory going around that Peter's powers are still evolving. We had no hint of Spider-sense in Homecoming, but it was very clear in Infinity War. The guess was that Spider-Man's powers failed to develop because of the advancements of the Stark suit, but when he decides to embrace his own homemade suit without the enhancements, his powers the continued to evolve—thus resulting in Spider-Sense in Infinity War.

Of course, it's still just a theory.

Catch Spider-Man pre-death in Avengers: Infinity War still in theaters.
