Avengers: Infinity War Pre-Production in Full Swing with Thanos Pictured in Mo-Cap

Now that The Cap's story, Captain America: Civil War is already wrapped up and available in digital HD, Marvel fans are turning their eyes towards a further goal, one that will introduce The Big Bad Thanos.

Even when there are still some films between now and Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been interested in seeing where the movie will go with Thanos. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared a new image on Facebook.

The image, seen below, shows actor Josh Brolin as he prepares to take on the role of Thanos. The directors are in the spacious set with Brolin, all ready with his mo-cap gear to shoot the film.

Based on his current position, they may be filming a scene wherein he is still seated on his throne. What the storyline will be for Thanos, the Russo brothers still have to tease. There's still a great deal to come in terms of exposition using the other movies in the Marvel universe.

Brolin previously shared that instead of just lending his voice to Thanos, he will be performing as him. Only this time, instead of just using makeup to achieve the look, he will be using mo-cap.

It's the same procedure that games use, though not necessarily with the voice actors of particular characters. The mo-cap approach is a big change from how the creators used pure CG for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018. It will be the first part of two titles, the other set to premiere in theater a year after.
