Avengers Infinity War: Movie Casts One Of The Children Of Thanos

Though everyone may be lead to believe Thanos is the sole villain of Avengers: Infinity War, he's actually bringing along his own ragtag group of beings called the Children of Thanos/The Black Order. The characters will be mostly CGI in the move, and one of the actors has stepped forward to reveal his role.

Irish actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Love/Hate) has admitted that he has been working on the movie, and he'll be playing the role of Ebony Maw. Talking to radiow show Second Captains (via DublinLive), Vaughan-Lawlor says:

"I am [working on Infinity War]. But it's like I'm one of those ones where you go into a sentence to say something about it and hope you have a job at the end of the sentence. You sign so many documents and waivers and people ask you about it and you have to give the generic and boring ‘I can't say too much about it'. But I am doing it and it's really amazing and an amazing thing to be part of."

He also talks about how thorough Marvel is when it comes to adding people to star in their MCU. He continues:

"With social media there's so much potential for leaks so (Marvel) understandably want to micro-manage things and make sure it goes out when they are ready. They didn't know me so when I went over they were meeting me for the first time. They do background checks to make sure you're not a white supremacist and they're not hiring someone with weird baggage."

Everyone who likes to keep their ear to the ground about movie news will know that, just like Lucasfilm, Marvel is also very secretive about their projects, and these non-disclosure agreements are no joke. We'll surely learn more about Thanos and his children over time, but it will be up to Marvel when exactly.

As for the character of Ebony Maw, he's considered to be the smartest in Thanos' crew and is very skilled with persuasion. He's gone head-to-head with Doctor Strange, and he's tricked the Sorcerer Supreme into summoning the ancient Shuma-Gorath.

Catch Ebony Maw and the rest of the Black Order as they debut in Avengers: infinity War which comes out May 4, 2018.
