Avengers Infinity War: James Gunn Confirms the Soul Stone is NOT with Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock was an important part of the Infinity Gauntlet story line in the comics, but it's been confirmed that he won't be involved in the fight with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. With the whereabouts of the Soul Stone still unknown, some guess that it's actually stored with Warlock and the Sovereign, but James Gunn has come out to debunk that speculation.

It has been said that Warlock will be skipping out on the next two Avengers movies to make his debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He was originally supposed to appear in the second GOTG film, but it was deemed that there were already too many characters to juggle in the movie.

I'm sure some comic purists will be annoyed that Warlock would be left out of a storyline that he was an integral part in, but when it comes to obscure characters, Marvel can just do what they please. I'm sure only the comic book readers were mad that Ultron was created by Tony Stark and not Hank Pym. Even a mention that it was Pym who started the program would be a respectful nod.

We don't know where the Soul Stone is, but some guess that it's actually stored in Wakanda, hence the magic flowers that granted the Black Panther his abilities. I'm actually hoping for a bigger surprise, but the stone in Wakanda is the most logical guess for now.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27.
