Avengers: Infinity War Director Says Vision’s Scenes Play Out “Like A Horror Film”

Avengers: Infinity War might be Marvel's most highly anticipated superhero smackdown, but according to co-director Anthony Russo Vision's (Paul Bettany) scenes in the first installment in the studio's two-part Avengers movie is actually being structured "like a horror film."

Sitting down to speak with Empire (via CBR), the Russo brother tried to explain that while Avengers 4 was a superhero movie, the film was structured using different genre templates for each scene. For Vision and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in Stockholm, scenes were developed as a horror movie.

"We structured that scene more like a horror film," he revealed. "We try to give each sequence in the film a slightly different tone and concept, based on the characters driving that sequence."

While it might sound strange seeing how Infinity War is a comic book movie, fans all know that Thanos is going after all the Infinity Stones to fill up his gauntlet. Vision, an android possessing synthetic vibranium body created by Ultron and Helen Cho, has the Mind Stone with him.

Everyone knows that Thanos is going to rip the stone right out of Vision's forehead, and in one of the sequences in the many previews for Infinity War he does just that too. The possibility of death must be terrifying for Vision, especially after the android starts finding joy in having a relationship with Scarlett Witch.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
