Avengers: Infinity War Composer Brings Up The Film’s Tonal Shifts

The Marvel Cinematic Universe might not have had a history of great sound design but there are a few decent tracks that actually add some atmosphere to these films. One of those tracks is the main theme of The Avengers, which was composed by Marc Silvestri and was used in the most recent trailers of Avengers: Infinity War.

Silvestri will be composing the score for Infinity War and has actually shared some interesting insight on what the film has to offer. Being the film's main composer, he has to come up with a number of tracks that fit with the various moods depending on the scene.

While discussing Ready Player One with THR, Silvestri briefly brought up his work on Marvel's next big blockbuster and noted how it has many shifts in tone. Considering how the film has a ton of characters and story to go through, this isn't that big of a surprise.

"It's funny because I feel like everything is still shaking… the dust hasn't quite settled just yet. I wrapped Infinity War yesterday, and it was a really different experience than anything I'd done before, especially in regard to the approach and balancing quick shifts in tone."

Considering how the most recent trailers showed glimpses of comedy and drama, the quick shifts in tone definitely make sense in that regard. Hopefully, the film balances the tone better than Thor: Ragnarok, which was fun but also hard to take seriously.

Avengers: Infinity War comes out on April 27.
