Avengers Infinity War: BTS Look at Josh Brolin as Thanos

Josh Brolin's Thanos has been hyped up as the ultimate villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he definitely doesn't disappoint. Thanos is not only terrifyingly powerful, but incredibly sympathetic as well, and the movie makes you understand his character motivations. Brolin's performance was completed with the use of motion capture, and thanks to ComicBookMovie, we actually get to see what Thanos looked like behind the scenes.

I never actually expected Brolin to be on the set with the actual actors, but as you can see in the photos, he's there with Thor and everyone else. You'll also notice that much like the other mo-cap characters, they have a printed out face of Thanos above Brolin so they could gauge the height of the character. It's also where the other actors are expected to look when they're acting with Brolin in a scene.

It seems to be a change of method from Age of Ultron since when James Spader wore his mo-cap outfit, it was said that he just had two balls above his head to represent Ultron's eyes—not an actual printout of his face.

Brolin has admitted that he did feel kind of silly doing mo-cap for the first time, but with some assurance from Mark Ruffalo, he was amazed that his performance was well-translated into Thanos in the final film.

Catch Brolin at his best with Avengers: Infinity War now out in theaters.
