There might be a lot of great movie choices lined up for summer this year, but it seems like Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and 20th Century Fox's Deadpool 2 are the two most highly anticipated blockbusters of the season.

According to a recent poll that Fandango conducted for the USA Today, out of the many movies coming out this summer, the first installment in Marvel's two part-Avengers movie event and the sequel to the R-Rated Deadpool are both at the top of the list of most highly anticipated films.

Among 4,500 participants who described themselves as "frequent moviegoers," Infinity War and Deadpool 2 were clearly the most exciting films of summer. The next three films following the Marvel movies were Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and of course Pixar's Incredibles 2.

Though some might have expected Solo to end up in a higher spot in Fandango's survey, there hasn't been that much hype for the Star Wars spinoff, partly because of the anxiety left by the film's shaky production and partly because of Lucasfilm's weak marketing run.

Aside from Fandango's survey of most highly anticipated films of the summer, Marvel also took the top spots for the site's "Fan Favorite Actor" of the summer with Merc with a Mouth actor Ryan Reynold's taking the top spot ahead of Infinity War and Jurassic World's Chris Patt.

"This summer is really turning into a fun showdown between Ryan Reynolds and Chris Pratt," Fandango.com managing editor Erik Davis shared. "Fans are jonesing to see Pratt in Avengers and (weeks later in) his other major franchise, Jurassic World. But it just goes to show the popularity of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool to see him taking most anticipated actor."

Looks like Marvel's really dominating the playing field this summer. We can't wait to see how Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2 might perform when they premiere.

Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas April 27. Deadpool 2 on May 18.
