Avengers: Infinity War Actually Focuses On The MCU’s ‘Important’ Characters

Sure Avengers: Infinity War might be gathering more than 60 Marvel heroes to help battle against Josh Brolin's Mad Titan Thanos, but according to one of the two Russo brothers directing the movie, the film's only going to focus on the "more important characters" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Joe Russo spoke with Screen Rant after the Marvel Studios panel at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con last weekend and the director let out a bit of info about the highly anticipated Marvel mash-up movie. According to Joe, though he and his brother might have a horde of heroes at their disposal, it seems like the team's giving most of the spotlight to the usual suspects.

"You know, the story really centers who you would expect it to center around, so our more important characters. This is a culmination film ten years in the making and we are pulling the main story threads from all of the different franchises into one unifying narrative. So any of the important characters are going to be in this film and they are going to have something important to do in the movie."

Of course, the Russo brothers wouldn't want to stray too far away from the core group and while some might hope to see other Marvel superheroes make a few appearances in the film, it seems like the core thread of Infinity War will remain with the Avengers and the characters already introduced in the MCU.
