Avatar Sequels Confirm Another Returning Cast Member

It may have been a while since the time fans clamored for Avatar and the expected sequel, but from the looks of it, even the cast members are putting quite a lot of faith into the franchise.

James Cameron's Avatar has recently gotten another "yes" nod from a previous cast member, and it's none other than Joel David Moore. Deadline broke the news, announcing that Moore has already signed up to reprise his role as Norm Spellman, the scientist who becomes close to lead actor Sam Worthington in Avatar.

This brings the count of returnees to four, as Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver have all confirmed to return to the sequels. The only newcomer currently known for the sequels is Fear the Walking Dead's Cliff Curtis, whose role has not yet been announced. The announcement, however, doesn't bring us any closer to the plot of the sequels. All we know so far is that it will involve an underwater setting.

Previously, Cameron's team has already confirmed that the sequels will be released during the holiday seasons of 2021, 2024, and 2025.

Avatar's sequels are coming in at over a decade since the first movie back in 2009. Granted, it has smashed box office records to maintain a hold of the title of being the highest-grossing film. Considering the preparation that has been put into the project, it's nice to see that even the stars who were part of the original title are still onboard to continue on with their roles.

We'll be keeping watch for any other progress that Avatar gets.
