Attack on Titan, Evangelion Additional Rides Coming to Universal Studios Japan

Japan is giving us another reason to come and visit the country. Universal Studios is adding a new attraction, and it's meant for anime and manga fans.

As if the previously added Evangelion the Real 4D and Evangelion the Real 4D: 2.0 aren't enough, fans can now also look forward to a 360-degree, virtual reality experience. According to the official statement (translated by Anime News Network), the new ride is called Evangelion XR Ride.

Evangelion XR Ride will let fans experience their very own ride in a vehicle as they try to avoid the intense Angel attacks. This new ride will be featured at the Space Fantasy – The Ride from Jan. 15 to June 25, 2017.

Another franchise that will see some new additions is Attack on Titan. The Shingeki no Kyojin the Real 4D 2 experience will showcase the Colossal Titan, in its 60-meter glory, and the Armored Titan from Jan. 15 to June 25, 2017.

This is part of the Universal Cool Japan event, which was first kicked off back in 2015. The run for each event is only available for a limited time, with the Universal Cool Japan 2016 held for half a year from Jan. 15 to June 26. For this year, the new event will run from Dec. 16 to June 25.

Universal Cool Japan 2017 will have four main attractions. Apart from the two newly announced, it will also have a ride for Godzilla: The Real 4D and the Sengoku the Real at Osaka-jo.
