Assassin’s Creed Anime Coming From Castlevania Netflix Creator

From live-action adaptations from Warner Bros, it appears that the trend is also moving the other direction; that is, Western franchises are being adapted into anime works.

Assassin's Creed has joined the ranks, with the announcement from Adi Shankar the producer of Netflix's Castlevania of the new project. Shankar took to Facebook to announce his involvement in the anime project.

What's exciting about this is not just the anime-zation of Assasssin's Creed, but that there will be an original story set in the AC universe that will be translated into anime:

"I'm happy to let you guys know that I've selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin's Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment, I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin's Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series."

This new platform for the franchise is not just an expansion of the Assassin's Creed universe, but also Ubisoft's franchises in the realm of film and TV.

The Assassin's Creed anime won't be the only thing that fans of the franchise can expect. This year, we're also looking at Assassin's Creed Origins, which, as the title suggests, will go back to the roots of the Assassin's story.

For now, we'll be looking forward to updates on what story Shankar has to tell about the Assassins.
