It’s been less than a week since the release of Deadpool, and already, the movie has enjoyed record-breaking success at the box office. Deadpool currently holds the biggest February weekend opening, R-rated opening, and President's Day four-day weekend of all time considering its small budget.

No wonder Deadpool 2 has been greenlit by Fox. But while we know there’s going to be a sequel and that the character Cable will be involved in the film, it’s still a mystery who will be playing the time-travelling mutant.

Wade Wilson said as much during Deadpool’s post-credits. The Merc with a Mouth mocked the audience for staying through to the very end and even told them to go home. Wilson however teased Cable, and even joked around saying that anybody could play him, including Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, and Keira Knightley.

Playing around with the concept of Keira Knightley as Cable, deviant artist BossLogic made his version of what the 30-year-old actress would look like as the mutant.

Not only that, BossLogic also created a Stephen Lang version of Cable since the character’s co-creator, Rob Liefeld, tweeted years ago that Lang is perfect for the role.

In addition, the 63-year-old actor has expressed his interest in the role.

I think both versions are awesome. Personally though, I’d go for Keira Knightley as Cable. Lang already played two versions of Cable in Avatar and Terra Nova, so it would be cool to see the character’s female version and Keira Knightley kicking some ass. If that doesn’t work out though, the actress could still be Neena Thurman/Domino, Cable & Deadpool’s friend and ally.

Deadpool is now in theaters.

Who do you think will be a better Cable?
