Arrow's Milestone Episode May Be Marked With Radical Elements

TV series' milestone episodes have always been the 100th showcase. We can expect either major character reveals or departures, crossover beginnings, or even unbelievable twists.

The same goes for Arrow once it debuts its 100th episode on Nov. 30, an event that fans of all three crossovers involved are already looking forward to.

Speaking to TV Line, Arrow actor Stephen Amell confirmed that the show will be taking a different turn.

"It's such a radical departure from anything that we have ever done on the show. We utilized the fantastical elements that we bring in on The Flash and carry through to Legends of Tomorrow with the present-day storyline to create something... that is not a flashback [or] a flash-forward. It's something else entirely."

He provided no other hints so far, except for the fact that the CW's crossover event with fellow DC shows Supergirl, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow will all be involved.

So far, the official description of the episode points a very odd similarity to the beginnings of The Flash's Flashpoint arc. Oliver gets the supposed dream life he wants--parents who are alive and well, no Queen's Gambit, and a wedding already shaping smoothly. As with Flashpoint, the perfect alternate reality has its chinks, and one that may break the fragile world.

According to Amell, it is this supposed refresh that allows the creators to run with the show in a new way.

What got my interest is that Amell also touched on the possibility that they may be able to have some characters interact in what would otherwise be an impossible feat.

Again, in an almost familiar move to The Flash, Amell also cites that this will be his Oliver's chance to say his goodbyes and find closure, hopefully one that would remove the brooding persona that he has adapted in Arrow.
