Arm Injury Won’t Affect Armie Hammer’s Possible Green Lantern Casting

Armie Hammer's not going to let arm injuries get in the way of suiting up as Green Lantern.

Back in January, Hammer took to social media to tell fans that he had gotten his arm bruised – the Lone Ranger star had torn his pectoral muscle "clean from the bone" and had to undergo surgery to treat his limb. Speaking with ScreenRant during the SXSW, Hammer revealed that he still wasn't allowed to risk his arm through strenuous activity, excusing himself from a paintball match at Stunt Ranch. However, that doesn't undermine his ability to do action roles – one of which includes Green Lantern.

"I'm okay now. I'm in physical therapy. I have another month of that."

Speaking on the rumors that he's in the running for the lead role in the Green Lantern Corps, this is what he says.

"I don't know. Technically (I am), because they haven't hired anyone. I don't know if they're making another one," he replies. "I'm not going be hobbled for the rest of my life. Let's say that."

While Hammer definitely won't straight up and say that he's in the race for the Green Lantern role, or that he's bagged the part, it's great to hear that if he has, he'll be fit and capable to star in The Green Lantern Corps. After all, the film's still a couple of years away.

Green Lantern Corps is slated for release in Jul 24, 2020.
